Hirooki Hatori (b. 1996, Fukushima, Japan) is a Japanese painter whose practice encompasses portraiture, self-portraiture, and live painting performance. He studied painting with a focus on Western art at Sunhwa Arts School and Sunhwa Arts High School in South Korea from 2009 to 2015.

Having painted more than 3,000 portraits around the world, Hatori draws inspiration from encounters with others and the distinct colours he senses in each person. Working across watercolour, acrylic, and oil pastel, he explores vulnerability, emotional openness, and the relationship between inner experience and colour. His paintings bring joy, anger, sorrow, and comfort into a shared space, inviting viewers to recognise the complexity of human feeling across cultural and personal boundaries.

His solo exhibitions include presentations at Instituto Juarez Machado in Joinville, Brazil (2024), HAKT&Co. in Tokyo (2022), and Galeria de Arte da Villa Francioni in São Joaquim, Brazil (2026). He also participates in PARALLEL Vienna 2026 through the group project “Unser Raum” with HIN & HER, creating live portraits during the fair.
