Count Giuseppe Tedeschi (Rome, 1958) is an Italian painter, musician, and Papal Dignitary whose career uniquely combines art, spirituality, diplomacy, and tradition. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he has established himself as a portraitist of popes and ecclesiastical dignitaries. His portrait of Pope John Paul I is displayed in the Gallery of the Popes in the Vatican. Since 1986, he has been a member of the Papal Family and a lay attaché to papal ceremonies. For over 30 years, he was the resident tenor of the Rome Opera House, and since 1979, he has sung in the Cappella Giulia of St. Peter's Basilica, where he is now its longest-serving member.
In an interview with Count Tedeschi, we revisit his visit to Zagreb and the Croatian National Theatre, the combination of art, liturgy, and protocol, operatic moments, the Pope's daily life, his diplomatic service for the Royal House of Montenegro, and the importance of orders of chivalry in the modern world. Special emphasis was placed on music as a bridge between religions and the preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage.
Grof Giuseppe Tedeschi (Rim, 1958.) talijanski je slikar, glazbenik i vatikanski dužnosnik čija karijera jedinstveno povezuje umjetnost, duhovnost, diplomaciju i tradiciju. Diplomirao je slikarstvo na rimskom ALU-u, a osobito se afirmirao kao portretist papa i crkvenih velikodostojnika. Njegov portret pape Ivana Pavla I. izložen je u Galeriji papa u Vatikanu.
Od 1986. član je Papinske obitelji i laički dužnosnik u papinskom protokolu. Više od 30 godina bio je stalni tenor Teatra dell'Opera u Rimu, a od 1979. pjeva u Cappelli Giuliji bazilike sv. Petra, gdje je danas njezin najdugovječniji član.
U razgovoru s grofom Tedeschijem osvrćemo se na njegov posjet Zagrebu i HNK-u, spoj umjetnosti, liturgije i protokola, operne trenutke, papinsku svakodnevicu, diplomatsku službu za Crnogorsku kraljevsku kuću te važnost viteških redova u suvremenom svijetu.
